Do, 12. September 2024 , 12:45 – 15:00
On behalf of the New York City-based organization Urban Design Forum, we cordially invite you to participate in an exchange between NYC x Berlin housing stakeholders on Thursday, September 12th.
Lunch: 12:45 – 1:30 pm
Breakout Discussions: 1:30 – 3:00 pm
Sept 11-13, a powerful coalition of NYC’s rising leaders from across design, development, policy, advocacy, and law — Global Fellows — will visit Berlin to engage with local leaders around the urgent housing crisis gripping both cities. This trip is part of a new Global Exchange program to survey the cultures and politics behind big housing shifts around the world, exchange insights, and energize the public conversation on housing with fresh ideas.
The session will bring Fellows together with a range of stakeholders across Berlin’s political spectrum to discuss efforts in NYC and Berlin to align public, private and civic housing interests, to achieve common-good housing projects/policies. What are the best practices for balancing priorities around growth and preserving the city’s polycentric structure and social mix?
